CAN Federation Sindhuli Hosts Event on Data Protection Practices for Nepalese Organizations

SINDHULI: The CAN Federation District Chapter Sindhuli, in collaboration with Kamalamai Municipality and Shrestha Computer Traders, successfully hosted the “Cyber Security Capacity Building and Smart Board Knowledge Sharing Program,” focusing on data protection practices for Nepalese organizations.

The program was presided over by Mr. Premnath Mainali, President of CAN Federation District Chapter Sindhuli, with Mr. Chiranjibi Adhikari, Senior Vice President of CAN Federation and CEO of One Cover Private Limited, serving as Chief Guest.

During the keynote session, Mr. Adhikari highlighted the rising cyber threats in Nepal, stressing the urgent need for proactive protection and the importance of public awareness in securing digital systems. Complementing this, Mr. Rajan Prajuli, Pen Tester Engineer at One Cover Private Limited, provided technical insights into penetration testing and practical cybersecurity strategies that organizations can adopt to strengthen their digital defenses.

The event drew participants from across the region, including IT officers from multiple municipalities, representatives from CAN Sindhuli, educational institutions, and industry professionals. Distinguished guests included DSP Surya Prakash Subedi of the District Police Office, Mr. Kiran Shrestha, President of CAN Federation Bagmati Province, and Mr. Baburam Devkota, President of Nepal Journalists Federation Sindhuli.

Mr. Min Bahadur Shrestha (Deepak), Secretary of CAN Federation District Chapter Sindhuli, thanked all collaborators and participants for contributing to the program’s success, underlining the shared commitment to improving data protection and cybersecurity awareness in Nepal.
