KATHMANDU:  The 11th edition of a comprehensive international exhibition covering interior, furniture, plywood, laminate, home textiles, hardware, wood‑related machinery and tools, furnishings, mattresses, raw materials and related products is set to be held from December 19 to 21 at Bhrikutimandap, Kathmandu.

Organised jointly by Media Space Solutions, and Futurex Trade Fair and Events, the event — presented as the 11th Nepal Wood International Expo, and Nepal Interior & Furniture Expo — will host more than 100 stalls featuring renowned national and international brands. The exhibition has marked a decade of showcasing wood‑industry products and introducing new technologies to companies, dealers, sub‑dealers and retailers of furniture, plywood and wood tools.

The organisers said the expo aims to bring sophisticated products and technologies from world‑renowned companies and brands to the Nepali market to support domestic industries. They expect the event to help businesses of all sizes upgrade existing machinery and improve operational efficiency.

Significant participation is anticipated from sectors including interior design, furniture, plywood, laminate, hardware, wood‑related machinery and tools, furnishings, mattresses, raw materials and finished products.

Supporting organisations for the exhibition include the Federation of Handicraft Associations of Nepal (FHAN), Federation of Community Forestry Users Nepal (FECOFUN), Federation of Forest‑Based Industry and Trade, Nepal (FENFIT‑Nepal), Nepal Plywood Manufacturers Association (NPMA) and Interior Designers Association of Nepal.

During the expo, experts from the Interior Designers Association of Nepal will run a two‑day seminar and workshop covering topics such as the latest technology, interior design and furniture.

Organisers said the exhibition will support the development and modernisation of Nepal’s wood, furniture and interior sectors, and will attract not only members of the public and prospective homeowners but also leading architects, engineers and interior designers. They added that the event will help make technologies proven abroad more readily available to Nepali manufacturers and is expected to have a positive impact on wood‑product manufacturing in Nepal.
