KATHMANDU: Glocal After School has announced Skill Week 2026, a week‑long programme of workshops, competitions, exhibitions and youth‑led showcases aimed at promoting skill development, creativity and youth empowerment. The event is scheduled to run from January 11 to 19, 2026, with Fest Day on January 16 and a closing ceremony on January 19 that will include the Skill Hero Awards.
Organisers said the week will open with masterclasses, competitions and interactive learning sessions from January 11–15, covering domains such as leadership, technology, creativity, communication and entrepreneurship. Fest Day on January 16 will present skill exhibitions, live demonstrations, performances, networking spaces, games and interactive installations, and will host the CEO Unplugged forum — a panel series bringing together entrepreneurs, business leaders and students under the theme “Today Meets Tomorrow.”
Industry–academia roundtables and the finale of the National Business Case Study Competition are scheduled for January 17–18, followed by a celebratory closing programme on January 19 that will reflect on insights gained during the week and highlight future pathways for young learners. The closing ceremony will also present the Skill Hero Awards, recognising individuals for contributions in art and culture, tourism and hospitality, science and technology and entrepreneurship.
“Skill Week is not just an event, it’s a movement,” said Asish Thakur, Chairman of Glocal After School. “Our goal is to create spaces where young people can learn, experiment, showcase, and unlock the potential within themselves.”
According to Glocal After School, Skill Week is an open platform for youth, educators, professionals and organisations to come together to celebrate and develop practical competencies that foster confidence and enhance employability.
