Gold, silver prices rise to record highs; gold traded at Rs 268,100, silver at Rs 4,420

KATHMANDU: Gold and silver prices in the local market continue to rise, with both metals increasing again today.

Price of fine gold has been fixed at Rs 268,100 per tola, while silver for the same quantity is maintained at Rs 4,420, according to Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers' Association (FENEGOSIDA). The prices of both metals are currently at an all‑time high.

Last Sunday, fine gold was traded at Rs 258,300 per tola and silver at Rs 4,105. On Monday, gold rose to Rs 261,700 per tola and silver to Rs 4,235. On Tuesday, following a sharp increase, gold was bought and sold at Rs 267,200 per tola and silver at Rs 4,255.

Analysts say the rise in gold and silver prices has accompanied the strengthening of the US dollar. International media reports indicate that, in the international market today, gold is trading at $4,525 per ounce and silver at $73 per ounce.
