TOKYO: Toyota Motor Corp said on Thursday its global production in November declined 5.5% to 821,723 units from a year earlier, marking the first drop in six months.
Overseas production fell 3.4% to 563,546 vehicles, while domestic production dropped 9.7% to 258,177 units, the world's largest carmaker by volume said.
Output in the United States climbed 9.0% to 107,953 units on strong demand for hybrid vehicles, despite higher tariffs imposed by the US administration.
Meanwhile, worldwide sales decreased 2.2% to 900,011 vehicles, the first decline in 11 months, the carmaker said.
The company's overseas sales dropped 2.6% to 769,789 vehicles, while sales in Japan fell 0.2% to 130,222 units.
