KATHMANDU: Nepal Chamber of Commerce (NCC) organised a corporate golf tournament to mark its Diamond Jubilee, the chamber said on Saturday.

The tournament, held at the Royal Nepal Golf Club in Sinamangal, Kathmandu, saw participation from industrialists and entrepreneurs from private sector. Winners of the competition were honoured with certificates and awards by Rajesh Kazi Shrestha, chairman of the NCC Diamond Jubilee Main Celebration Committee and former president of the NCC; Kamlesh Kumar Agrawal, NCC president; Rajendra Malla, immediate past president; and Deepak Kumar Malhotra, senior vice president. Awards were presented to 15 winners.

Arjun Prasad Sharma, vice president of the NCC and coordinator of the golf tournament, described the chamber’s 75-year journey as “truly historic and inspiring.” He said, “For more than seven decades, the NCC has played a significant role in the development of trade, industry, entrepreneurship and the private sector in the country.”

Sharma added that the corporate golf event was organised to promote sports tourism in Nepal and that the tournament “reflects not only sport but also the social engagement, discipline, focus, integrity and long-term vision of the NCC.”

The NCC is marking its 75th anniversary this year with a series of programmes to celebrate its Diamond Jubilee.
