Minister Kharel inspects telecom offices in Pokhara
GANDAKI: Minister for Communication and Information Technology Jagadish Kharel today inspected several offices and held meetings in Pokhara.
After inaugurating an interaction and discussion programme this morning on concepts to professionalise mass communication, the minister visited the Provincial Office of Nepal Telecom and the Ncell Data Centre in Talchok.
Director Basant Lingthep, Deputy Manager Hari K Sharma and other officials welcomed Kharel at the Telecom office and briefed him on the service delivery being carried out by the office.
Minister Kharel said Nepal Telecom’s services should be made effective and contemporary and expressed his readiness to pursue policy measures required to resolve existing problems. He added that the country has already moved towards elections and that elections are essential to lead the nation on the path to stability, prosperity and development.
During his visit to the Ncell Data Centre, technician Madan Ghimire briefed the minister on various matters on behalf of the centre.
The minister also received information on security arrangements and other issues from Chief Secretary Danduraj Ghimire of the Office of the Chief Minister and Council of Ministers of Gandaki Province and from heads of security agencies.
Likewise, Minister Kharel met Pokhara Metropolitan City Mayor Dhana Raj Acharya and heads and representatives of various agencies during the visit.
