KATHMANDU: Everest Summiteers Summit 2026, the second conference of domestic and foreign climbers who have scaled Mount Everest, is scheduled to take place on May 27.

Everest Alliance Nepal (EAN), which has long been active in mountain conservation and the promotion of Nepal’s tourism, held a press conference today to confirm the date and open registrations for domestic and foreign climbers.

EAN President Sudarshan Nepal said the summit is being organised to bring domestic and foreign Everest climbers together on a single platform for the second time on the occasion of International Everest Day. He said the conference was started last year to promote Nepal’s tourism sector internationally and to conserve the mountains, and that it has been decided to continue it next year.

EAN Chief Advisor Achyut Guragain, former president of Nepal Association of Tour and Travel Agents (NATTA), said the conference is organised to spread the message of conserving Nepal’s white mountains and handing them on to future generations, and that the summit will be a significant milestone for the sustainable future of the Himalayas.

Shradha Chhetri, Strategic Head of the organisation, said the Everest Summiteers Summit 2026 is being organised for the second time in collaboration with the government and various tourism associations.

The one-day international conference is scheduled to discuss melting glaciers, mountain waste management and the welfare of climbers.

To date, more than 7,000 people from around the world have successfully climbed Mount Everest. Tenzing Norgay Sherpa and Sir Edmund Hillary were the first to reach the summit.
