KATHMANDU: Gold prices in the domestic market fell by Rs 2,000 per tola on Thursday, according to the Federation of Nepal Gold and Silver Dealers’ Association.
The federation set the price of fine gold at Rs 265,700 per tola for the day, down from Rs 267,700 per tola in the previous trading session. The decline follows gold’s recent peak of Rs 270,600 per tola, recorded on December 28, marking the highest level in the Nepali market.
Silver prices also edged lower on Thursday. The metal dropped by Rs 100 per tola to trade at Rs 4,835, compared with Rs 4,935 per tola a day earlier. Wednesday’s rate had been the most recent high for silver.
