NEPSE index surges 2.12 pc to close at 2,772.17; turnover nears Rs 13.79bn
KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index recorded a strong rally, gaining 57.55 points or 2.12% to close at 2,772.17 today.
Trading activity remained robust, with total turnover standing at Rs 13,785,729,645.05. A total of 30,915,183 shares belonging to 331 companies were traded in 133,529 transactions.
All sectoral sub‑indices closed in positive territory, indicating broad‑based buying interest across sectors.
Eight companies reached the upper circuit breaker.
The Ankhu Khola Hydropower Company (AKJCL) dominated trading activity, leading in both turnover, Rs 435,933,162, and volume, 1,668,000 shares traded.
The session reflects improved investor sentiment, particularly in the hydropower segment.
