KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index closed marginally lower on Monday, declining by 3.07 points or 0.11% to settle at 2,769.09.
Market activity strengthened, with total turnover reaching Rs 16,355,730,466.82 (Rs 16.36 billion). A total of 36,264,873 shares of 332 companies were traded in 147,676 transactions.
The Sensitive Index fell 1.65 points, or 0.34%, to 471.83, while the Float Index and Sensitive Float Index also ended slightly lower. Several stocks hit the 10% upper circuit.
Top gainers included SY Panel Nepal (SYPNL) at Rs 2,069.60 (+10.00%), Him Star Urja Company (HIMSTAR) at Rs 1,149.50 (+10.00%) and Sanvi Energy (SANVI) at Rs 976.80 (+10.00%).
Hydropower stocks dominated trading, with Himalayan Power Partner (HPPL) leading turnover at Rs 659.33 million, followed by Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company (AKJCL) at Rs 561.64 million and Manjushree Finance (MFIL) at Rs 523.27 million.
Despite the minor index dip, the higher turnover reflected sustained investor participation.
