KATHMANDU: Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) participated in the Travel and Adventure Show 2026 in New York to promote Nepal’s tourism globally.

The event took place at the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center from January 24 to 25. In 2025, some 102,316 tourists from the United States visited Nepal, making the United States Nepal’s second-largest tourist source market, NTB said.

NTB’s participation was organised in collaboration with the Trekking Agencies’ Association of Nepal (TAAN) and aimed to strengthen Nepal’s presence in the United States market, engage travel trade partners and inspire American travellers to experience Nepal’s natural beauty, cultural heritage and adventure tourism offerings, NTB said.

Six Nepali companies — Asian Heritage Treks & Travels, Explore Vacation, Friends Adventure Team Trekking & Mountaineering, Himalayan Glacier Adventure & Travel Company, Nepal Vision Treks & Expeditions, and Touch Kailash Travels & Tours — exhibited at the Nepal Pavilion, showcasing the country’s adventure, trekking and travel experiences, NTB said.

NTB said it was encouraged by strong interest from United States tourism entrepreneurs and travellers in Nepal’s adventure tourism products during the two-day event, and that the participation provided an opportunity to expand relations with United States tourism entrepreneurs and further consolidate Nepal’s recognition as 'Destination Nepal.'

On the opening day, Nepal’s Consul General to New York, Dadhiram Bhandari, visited the Nepali Pavilion and met the participating companies. Discussions at the event focused on exploring potential collaborations with eastern coastal states of the United States to promote Nepal’s tourism, NTB said.

Uday Bhattarai and Pradeep Basnet represented NTB at the show.
