KATHMANDU: National Anti‑Money Laundering Day is being observed by organising various programmes across the country today.
The Department of Money Laundering Investigation (DMLI) is marking the day at a function attended by Finance Minister Rameshore Prasad Khanal. Director General of DMLI, Gajendra Kumar Thakur, said the day is being marked in memory of the issuance of the Anti‑Money Laundering Act, 2064 BS.
The meeting of the Council of Ministers decided on December 31, 2024, to observe the National Anti‑Money Laundering Day every year on Magh 14 of Nepali calendar.
The anti‑money laundering initiatives aim to curb financial crimes to ensure fair business and a resilient economy.
