Over 92,000 foreign tourists visit Nepal in January: NTB

KATHMANDU: Nepal welcomed 92,573 foreign tourists in January 2026, according to Nepal Tourism Board (NTB).

The NTB said the number of foreign travellers in January was 15.7% higher than in January last year.

India accounted for the largest share of visitors, with 26,624 arrivals in the month, the NTB said. Likewise, 9,101 tourists arrived from China, 8,406 from the US and 4,957 from Australia.

SAARC countries made up 39.3% of total visitors in the review period, other Asian countries 26.1%, Europe 12.3%, the Americas 10.8%, and Oceania 5.7%, the NTB said.
