KATHMANDU: President Ramchandra Paudel arrived in Japan early this morning. He left Kathmandu last night to lead a Nepali delegation at the invitation of the Japanese government for the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Nepal and Japan.
The Chief of Protocol of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan, the Japanese Ambassador to Nepal, Toru Maeda, and the Chargé d’affaires of the Embassy of Nepal in Japan, Harihar Kant Poudel, welcomed President Paudel at Narita International Airport.
During the visit, the Head of State will attend an anniversary function organised by the Japanese government, the President’s press adviser Kiran Pokharel said.
The President is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Emperor Naruhito at the Tokyo Imperial Palace. According to the press adviser, he is also due to attend a meeting organised by the Japanese business community and a reception hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in Japan.
The President is accompanied by his wife, Sabita Paudel, senior government officials and officials from the President’s Office. He is scheduled to return home on February 4.
