KATHMANDU: Chamber of Industries Morang (CIM) on Friday opened an Industries Experience Zone, a Business Incubation Centre and the virtual platform biratbazar.com to boost industrial promotion, innovation and market access for local manufacturers and startups.
A high‑level delegation from the Department of Industry, led by Director General Jitendra Basnet and Director Bishnu Kumari Bhattarai, inspected the new facilities and praised the chamber’s integrated approach. Officials said the three platforms will play a pivotal role in showcasing innovation and expanding market reach for industries in the region.
Director General Basnet underlined the value of combining physical and digital platforms. He said the initiatives “reflect a business development ecosystem” and urged people to use the new resources, adding, “everyone should visit once to benefit from them.” He also noted that the Experience Zone gives a tangible complement to the digital presence of local businesses, saying, “This is a first‑of‑its‑kind, innovative, and effective initiative in Nepal for industry promotion.”

Basnet expressed optimism about the long‑term effects on domestic industry, saying the platforms would increase visibility for Nepali products, expand collaboration between entrepreneurs and investors, accelerate industrial development, and promote business‑to‑business partnerships.
Department Director Bishnu Kumari Bhattarai highlighted the educational and cooperative potential of the facilities. “The overall platform provides an opportunity to directly experience the achievements and potential of the industrial sector,” she said, calling the initiative “an important stage to closely understand, learn, and prepare a foundation for cooperation.” She added that the project would strengthen market access for Nepali products while empowering industrial development and entrepreneurship.
CIM President Nand Kishor Rathi said the launch coincided with the chamber’s establishment day and described the new offerings as a “self‑sustaining ecosystem.” He said the platforms were developed as a permanent stage for B2B promotion, market network expansion, learning and partnership building. “Visitors can see, touch, and experience local industries through products, company profiles, information regarding workplaces, potential partners, and specific professional skills,” Rathi said.
The Experience Zone incorporates modern technology to enhance visitor engagement. President Rathi noted that virtual tours of industries are available via VR in the Experience Zone, making industry presentations “more effective through the use of modern technology.”
The combined facilities currently display products from established industrial firms, innovative startups and goods produced by women entrepreneurs. By serving as a permanent exhibition site, the CIM aims to offer visitors a comprehensive view of production, technology, skills and partnership opportunities across the industrial sector.
