KATHMANDU: Global IME Bank today launched a special scheme offering 50% discount on service charges for international online payments made for educational purposes.

The discount covers a wide range of transactions related to study abroad, including tuition fees, visa fees and online examination charges. Students can use the facility for tests such as IELTS, TOEFL, SAT, GMAT, PTE, ACT, ACCA and USMLE, the bank said. The reduction also applies to college fees, insurance premiums and other related service payments.

The promotional offer will remain in effect until July 31, 2026. To increase accessibility, Global IME Bank has made the service available through 117 of its branches, and a list of participating branch offices has been posted on the bank’s official website.

The bank highlighted recent recognition in its announcement, noting awards from Global Finance and Euromoney in 2024, and said it has received various other national and international accolades for its performance across different categories.

Global IME Bank reiterated its extensive domestic presence as the first private commercial bank to establish operations in all 77 districts of Nepal. Its network includes more than 1,000 service centres, comprising 352 branch offices, 385 ATMs, 147 branchless banking units, 68 extension and revenue collection counters, and three foreign representative offices.

Beyond domestic services, the bank continues to facilitate remittances from numerous countries, including the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Australia, Malaysia, South Korea, Japan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, the UAE, Bahrain, Kuwait, India and Jordan.
