KATHMANDU: Swostishree Gurukul IB Continuum School recently welcomed Mike Harker, Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy in Nepal, for an interactive session on career guidance attended by students from Grades 10, 11, 12, and IB DP Year 1.
Mr Harker shared insights from his personal, academic, and professional journey, emphasising perseverance, adaptability, and lifelong learning as essential skills for success in today’s global landscape. He provided practical guidance on academic planning, skill development, international opportunities, and the value of a strong personal essay for university applications.
The session allowed students to ask questions on higher education, career pathways, and the skills needed to thrive in international environments. His candid advice and real-world examples left a lasting impression, motivating students to aim high and embrace challenges confidently.
The programme was moderated by Principal Neha KC and emceed by Grade 12 student Adhish Binod Pokharel. Managing Director Mina Maharjan concluded the event by presenting Mr Harker with a token of appreciation.
The visit strengthened the school’s commitment to nurturing globally minded, future-ready learners, reflecting the core values of the IB philosophy.
