Kathmandu: Xtreme Energy Drink has announced financial assistance of Rs 500,000 for Nepal women’s national football team captain Sabitra Bhandari as she prepares to undergo treatment for a serious knee injury.

The company said the support is aimed at assisting the national striker during her treatment and rehabilitation period. In a statement, it noted that backing athletes who have consistently represented the country with distinction forms part of its corporate responsibility.

Bhandari, one of Nepal’s leading forwards, has been a central figure in the national team’s recent international campaigns. Her injury is expected to sideline her for a significant period, although further details regarding the nature of the treatment have not been disclosed.

Xtreme Energy Drink expressed confidence that the captain would make a full recovery and return to the field in the national colours.
