KATHMANDU: Nepal Oil Corporation (NOC) has urged the general public not to store petroleum products unnecessarily, saying that imports are regular and uninterrupted.
NOC Executive Director Chandika Prasad Bhatta warned that storing petroleum products could increase the risk of accidents and said the supply would remain steady during the election period.
In a notice on Monday, he said, "The import of petroleum products is uninterrupted via the pipeline. Import of petroleum products will continue even during the upcoming elections." The election to the House of Representatives (HoR) is taking place on Thursday, March 5.
He also warned of fire-induced disasters if petroleum products are stored in cans, drums and other vessels, and said storage is strictly prohibited in view of possible fire-induced disasters.
