KATHMANDU: The Election Code of Conduct, 2082 BS, which was brought into force on January 18 for the elections of members of the House of Representatives (HoR), will be deactivated from midnight today, the Election Commission of Nepal (ECN) said.
ECN spokesperson Narayan Prasad Bhattarai said the ECN had taken the decision today.
Issuing a statement today, the ECN reiterated that the election code of conduct would be deactivated from midnight.
The Code was brought into force under the Election Commission Act, 2073 BS; the Election Code of Conduct, 2082 BS, aims to ensure that elections are conducted in a free, fair and fearless manner.
