COLOMBO: Sri Lanka increased retail fuel prices from midnight on Monday amid volatile global crude oil markets caused by the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the state‑run Ceylon Petroleum Corporation said.
Under the revision, auto‑diesel rose by 22 rupees to 303 rupees per litre, while super‑diesel increased by 24 rupees to 353 rupees per litre. Ninety‑two octane petrol was raised by 24 rupees to 317 rupees per litre and 95 octane petrol by 25 rupees to 365 rupees per litre. Kerosene was also increased by 13 rupees to 195 rupees per litre.
The corporation said orders have been placed to meet national fuel requirements through August, in addition to long‑term tenders arranged by the government.
Mayura Neththikumarage, managing director of Ceylon Petroleum Corporation, said on Sunday the country had sufficient stocks of fuel to last until the end of April under prevailing consumption patterns.
