ABU DHABI: The United Arab Emirates has announced a temporary, partial closure of its airspace as a precautionary measure amid rapidly escalating security developments in the region, the General Civil Aviation Authority said.
In a statement on Monday, the authority said the decision was taken to ensure the safety of flights, aviation crews and the protection of the country's territory.
It said the move followed a comprehensive assessment of security and operational risks and was implemented in coordination with relevant local and international authorities.
Officials stressed that the safety of passengers and flight crews remains their top priority and that all necessary measures will continue to be taken to maintain the highest standards of aviation safety.
