KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose by 64.69 points to close at 2,877.03, a gain of 2.30% today.
Turnover increased sharply to Rs 21,223,494,886.98, up from Rs 12,034,406,328 on Tuesday. A total of 56,920,608 shares of 342 companies were traded through 191,251 transactions.
According to NEPSE, the share prices of 240 companies increased, 22 companies fell and two remained unchanged.
All sectoral indices recorded gains. The Development Bank Index posted the largest rise of 3.95%. Other increases included Banking sub-index 3.16%, Finance 1.94%, Hotels and Tourism 1.75%, Hydropower 2.30%, Investment 1.77%, Life Insurance 2.76%, Manufacturing and Processing 1.89%, Microfinance 1.24%, Non-Life Insurance 1.80%, Others 1.97% and the Trading Index 0.14%.
The share prices of Corporate Development Bank (CORBL), Salapa Bikas Bank (SABBL) and Reliance Spinning Mills (RSML) hit the positive circuit today. Meanwhile, Nepal Life Samriddhi Lagani Yojana (NSY) recorded the largest fall, down 5.12%.
