Cloudy Weather Across Nepal with Rain, Snow and Thunderstorms Expected in Several Provinces

Kathmandu: Nepal is expected to see cloudy skies along with rain, snowfall and thunderstorms in many parts of the country today, according to the Weather Forecasting Division.

At present, the country is under the influence of a westerly low-pressure system combined with local winds. Because of this, hilly and Himalayan areas of Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces are seeing mostly cloudy weather. Similar conditions are also being observed in parts of Gandaki and Lumbini provinces.

In Koshi and Bagmati provinces, the hilly regions are partly cloudy, while most other areas across the country remain generally clear for now.

However, the weather is likely to change as the day progresses. By this afternoon, most parts of Nepal are expected to turn cloudy. There is a possibility of moderate rain and snowfall in many areas, along with thunder, lightning and hail. These weather conditions are more likely in Karnali and Sudurpaschim provinces, and in some hilly and mountainous areas of Gandaki, Lumbini and Koshi provinces.

The Division has also warned that one or two places in the hilly and Himalayan regions of Karnali and Sudurpaschim could experience heavy rainfall or snowfall.

Cloudy conditions are expected to continue into the night, with chances of rain, snowfall and thunderstorms in many parts of the country.

The Weather Forecasting Division has urged the public to remain cautious. Farmers, travellers and those involved in transport are advised to take extra care, as the changing weather may disrupt daily life and travel.
