KATHMANDU: vivo has launched the Y05 in Nepal, presenting the handset as a budget-friendly smartphone focused on extended battery life, durability and everyday usability. The company announced the device on Tuesday and said it will be available nationwide from Wednesday.

The Y05 is built around a 6500mAh BlueVolt Battery, which vivo said is a class-leading power cell designed to reduce the need for frequent charging. The company also highlighted advanced battery management intended to preserve capacity over time and to sustain what it calls five-year battery health, aiming to keep the device dependable for several years of regular use.

Durability is a key selling point for the Y05. The phone carries an IP65 rating for dust and water resistance and features a professional anti-drop design intended to protect the device from everyday bumps and accidental knocks.

On the software and display side, the Y05 runs OriginOS 6 and offers a 120Hz smooth display for fluid scrolling and responsiveness. The screen reaches a peak brightness of 1200 nits, which vivo said improves visibility in bright outdoor conditions. The company also promotes a 200 per cent volume boost to deliver louder audio for media and calls.

The Y05 will be sold in two memory configurations: 4GB + 64GB priced at Rs 16,999 and 4GB + 128GB priced at Rs 19,499. The phone is available through authorised retail outlets across Nepal and online via Daraz.
