KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index fell sharply on the first trading day after the formation of the new government.
It dropped 71.05 points, or 2.40%, to close at 2,879.11.
Market turnover was Rs 15,033,310,867.98 as 35,248,397 shares of 333 companies were traded.
All sub‑indices ended in negative territory. Share prices of 10 companies increased while those of 255 companies declined.
Shares of Reliance Spinning Mills (RSML), Super Khudi Hydropower (SKHL) and Ridge Line Energy (RLEL) hit the positive circuit. Unique Nepal Laghubitta Bittiya Sanstha (UNLB) recorded a decline of 6.17%.
