Rain likely in Koshi, Bagmati, Gandaki provinces today

KATHMANDU: Nepal is under the influence of westerly and local winds, bringing generally cloudy conditions to the hilly and mountainous parts of the country, the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology (DHM) said.

Light rain accompanied by thunder is currently occurring in one or two hilly areas in Gandaki, Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces, and rainfall is occurring in the Kathmandu Valley as well.

This afternoon, generally cloudy conditions are expected in the hilly and mountainous regions of the country, while the Tarai region will be partly cloudy.

There is a possibility of moderate rain and snow, with thunder and lightning, at a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces, and at one or two places in Madhesh Province, including Tarai in Koshi, as well as in the hilly and mountainous regions of Lumbini, Karnali and Sudurpashchim, the Meteorological Forecast Division of the DHM stated.
