NTA closes online betting apps, websites
KATHMANDU: Nepal Telecommunications Authority (NTA) has closed down online betting apps and their related websites after the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology (MoCIT) directed the authority to act within 24 hours.
The NTA carried out the shutdown in coordination with internet service providers, the ministry said.
The directive followed a meeting in which the Minister for Communication, Dr Bikram Timilsina, the secretary and division chiefs had instructed the NTA to take the action.
