BEIJING: International exhibits will account for 65% of the total at the sixth China International Consumer Products Expo, up 20 percentage points from last year, a Chinese official said on Monday.
More than 3,400 brands from over 60 countries and regions will take part in the expo, which will be held in Hainan province in south China from April 13 to 18, Vice Commerce Minister Sheng Qiuping said at a press conference.
As this year’s guest country of honour, Canada will bring nearly 40 companies to showcase goods such as cosmetics, agricultural products and pet food.
Official delegations from 12 countries and regions, including Switzerland, the Czech Republic and Ireland, will attend. Russia and Bulgaria, among others, will set up national pavilions at the expo for the first time.
Jointly hosted by the Ministry of Commerce and the Hainan provincial government, this year’s expo is the first edition since the Hainan Free Trade Port fully launched island‑wide special customs operations.
