KATHMANDU: Atlassian Community Kathmandu (ACE Kathmandu) hosted the second edition of the Atlassian Community Conference in Kathmandu on Saturday. About 200 developers, project managers, technology leaders, IT professionals and Agile practitioners from Nepal and the region attended the event.
The full‑day event featured sessions on Atlassian tools, AI‑driven collaboration and the future of work. Presentations and workshops demonstrated practical uses of Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket and Jira Service Management, and showcased AI enhancements such as Rovo to streamline workflows and boost productivity.
Technical sessions set out ways to transform the software development lifecycle with Atlassian tools and to 'master the System of Work with AI'. Speakers highlighted emerging AI capabilities and their impact on collaboration and delivery. A panel titled 'AI‑Human Collaboration and the Future of Work', moderated by Bishnu Subedi, included Newton Suwal, CEO of Aerion Technologies Nepal; Sagun Khanal, product manager at CloudFactory; and Khemraj Basnet, product owner at F1Soft International.
On the occasion, ACE Kathmandu announced two new local chapters: Atlassian Community Lalitpur, led by Raunak Maskey, and Atlassian Community Butwal, led by Prakash Aryal. The additions extend the community’s reach beyond Kathmandu.
The day wrapped up with an interactive quiz show hosted by Mohan Niraula, CEO of Soft Veins, followed by a closing ceremony.
ACE Kathmandu said the conference underlined Nepal’s growing role in the global Atlassian ecosystem. The community, founded in 2017, has organised more than 80 events and used the conference to show how Atlassian’s Teamwork Collection and modern teamwork practices are being adopted across IT firms, startups, banks and larger enterprises in the country.
Community Champions Ashish Agrawal, Bishnu Subedi, Janaki Joshi and Mohan Niraula shared, “The Atlassian Community Conference 2026 was an important milestone for Nepal’s growing tech and collaboration ecosystem. It created a platform where local professionals could connect with global experts, exchange ideas, and explore how modern teamwork practices are shaping the future of work.”
Global sponsor Atlassian supported the conference and noted the community’s scale: more than 3.8 million members across 196 chapters, and tools used by over 300,000 organisations worldwide, including 80% of the Fortune 500.
