SEE underway with 512,444 candidates at 1,966 centres across Nepal, one in Japan

BHKTAPUR: This year’s Secondary Education Examination (SEE) began today, with papers starting at 8:00 am at 1,966 examination centres across Nepal and one centre in Japan. The examinations will conclude on April 12.

Examination Controller at the National Examinations Board (NEB), Tukaraj Adhikari, said the SEE began at 8:00 am and confirmed that 23 students are sitting the exam at the centre in Japan.

A total of 512,444 students are registered for this year’s SEE, of whom 512,421 are in Nepal and 23 at the centre in Japan. Of the examinees, 257,613 are female, 254,807 are male and seven are recorded in the others category. A total of 441,566 students are sitting the regular examination while 70,855 are taking the grade increment examination.

Province-wise, 82,487 students from Koshi Province, 90,243 from Madhesh Province, 109,513 from Bagmati Province, 43,972 from Gandaki Province, 91,802 from Lumbini Province, 39,769 from Karnali Province and 54,635 from Sudurpashchim Province are appearing for the SEE.

The first day features the Compulsory English paper. Compulsory Nepali is scheduled for April 3, Compulsory Mathematics for April 5, Science for April 6, Social Studies for April 7, all subjects of Optional I for April 8, all subjects of Optional II for April 9, and all subjects of the technical stream from April 10-12.
