RSP's Dol Prasad Aryal elected Speaker of the Lower House
KATHMANDU: Dol Prasad Aryal has been elected Speaker of the House of Representatives today.
Aryal, a lawmaker from ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP), was declared elected unopposed after those who proposed and seconded his candidacy made statements. The post is for the Lower House of the Federal Parliament.
Arjun Narsingh KC, the senior-most member of the HoR who was presiding over the meeting, made the declaration and congratulated Aryal, wishing him a successful term.
The HoR will next meet at 1:00 pm on Monday.
