KATHMANDU: Artudio is set to open a contemporary Lithuanian textile art exhibition, 'Textile Scripts', at its Patan Wing in Lalitpur on April 16.
Curated by Odeta Žukauskienė, the exhibition will open to the public on April 17, 2026, and will run until April 23. It features works by four Lithuanian artists: Laima Oržekauskienė-Ore, Monika Žaltauskaitė Grašienė-Žaltė, Lina Jonikė and Gerda Liudvinavičiūtė.

The works explore material, gesture and meaning through diverse techniques. They address Lithuanian cultural memory, mythic imagination, ecological awareness and the textures of everyday life.
Artudio said the show is presented as four interconnected micro-narratives. The layout creates a spatial dialogue that challenges the boundaries of textile in contemporary art and presents textile practice as an active field of relations rather than a static craft.
The opening on Thursday, at 6:00 pm, will be attended by Diana Mickevičienė, Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to Nepal. The exhibition will be open daily from 11:00 am to 5:30 pm.
Textile Scripts is organised in collaboration with the Vilnius Academy of Arts and is supported by the Lithuanian Culture Research Institute and the Lithuanian Council for Culture, with assistance from regional diplomatic representatives.
The exhibition is part of a regional tour and will travel next to the Royal Textile Academy of Bhutan in Thimphu, where it will be shown from April 27 to May 5, 2026.
