KATHMANDU: Aloft Kathmandu Thamel carried out a corporate social responsibility (CSR) outreach at Matri Nepal Bal Griha, an orphanage in Kathmandu, as the community prepared for the upcoming academic session.

The hotel reached out to about 45 children, providing material support and spending time with residents to boost their readiness for the new term.

Additionally, hotel staff distributed stationery kits that included notebooks, pens, pencils and geometry boxes to ensure the children had basic learning supplies for school. Beyond the material donations, Aloft associates engaged the children in informal activities and conversations aimed at encouragement and emotional support.

The visit concluded with a small celebration featuring a cake-cutting ceremony and the distribution of biscuits and chocolates, creating a memorable and uplifting experience for the children at the orphanage.

Speaking about the initiative, General Manager Vikram Singh said, “At Aloft Kathmandu Thamel, we believe that investing in education is one of the most meaningful ways to contribute to long-term community development. Our visit to Matri Nepal Bal Griha orphanage reflects our commitment to supporting vulnerable children, not only through essential resources, but also about spending time with the children, encouraging them, and reinforcing that they are supported by the wider community.”

The outreach forms part of the hotel’s ongoing engagement with local institutions and aligns with Marriott International’s Serve 360 framework, particularly the Nurture focus on caring for communities and supporting long-term well-being. Aloft Kathmandu Thamel said the initiative underscores its continued emphasis on education, child welfare and purposeful community involvement.
