KATHMANDU: Kathmandu Valley recorded 2,015 cases of traffic violations in the past 24 hours, with fines totalling Rs 2.66 million.
Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office reported 99 cases of drink-driving and 193 cases of ride-sharing against the rules. Other recorded offences included 133 violations of traffic signals and 132 breaches of lane discipline.
There were 79 cases of honking in prohibited areas, 87 instances of parking on roadsides and pavements, and 139 cases of speeding. Driving on one-way routes accounted for 79 cases, while 1,164 cases fell under other traffic-related violations.
The Traffic Police Office said the fines were collected from traffic rule violators during enforcement operations across the valley.
