KATHMANDU: Midea has launched a new 198-litre hard-top single-door chest freezer (model MDRC362FZG43D) in the Nepali market.

The company said the appliance combines rapid freezing, energy efficiency and smart features for modern households and commercial users. It said the unit’s deep-freezing capability can reach −30°C to help preserve taste, freshness and nutrients, and that a fast-freezing mode is included to freeze food quickly and extend shelf life.

Midea said its Inverter Quattro technology delivers lower power consumption, faster cooling and quiet operation, with a reported noise level of 37 decibels (dB). The freezer also uses four-sided cooling and a D+ cooling system to keep temperature stable by distributing cold evenly throughout the interior. A convertible function allows users to switch between freezer and fridge modes as needed.

To address frequent power fluctuations in Nepal, the appliance offers wide voltage support and an outage-memory feature, and the company said it can maintain cold temperatures for an extended period during power interruptions.

The new chest freezer features a curved exterior, a multi-angle hover door and a large storage capacity, which Midea said will appeal to both domestic kitchens and commercial settings.

Midea products, including washing machines, refrigerators, microwaves, air fryers, kitchen appliances, fans and heaters, are available in Nepal through CG Electronics. The company said growing consumer interest in modern technology, energy-saving features and durability and performance has helped establish Midea as a trusted brand in the Nepali market.
