Moderate rainfall and snowfall expected in Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki

KATHMANDU: Moderate rainfall and snowfall are expected at some places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi Province today. A few places in the mountainous and hilly areas of Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces are also likely to receive moderate precipitation.

Meteorological Forecasting Division (MFD) said light rain accompanied by thunder and lightning is possible at one or two places in the Tarai and in other mountainous and hilly parts of Madhesh, Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces.

“At present, Nepal is under the influence of westerly and local winds,” the MFD said. Temperatures are likely to rise in the Tarai areas of Sudurpaschim and Lumbini Provinces.

Tonight, skies are expected to remain generally cloudy over the mountainous and hilly areas of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces, and partially cloudy in the rest of the mountainous and hilly regions. The Tarai region will remain mainly clear.

There is a chance of light rain and snowfall at one or two places in the mountainous and hilly regions of Koshi, Bagmati and Gandaki Provinces overnight.
