KATHMANDU: Nepal Stock Exchange (NEPSE) index rose on Wednesday, gaining 30.08 points to close at 2,754.48, up 1.10%.
The Sensitive Index, which tracks large-cap companies, climbed by 3.68 points to reach 471.06. Market activity saw 10,661,476 shares of 346 companies change hands, with a total turnover of Rs 3,820,896,966.85.
Corporate Development Bank (CORBL) led the turnover list for the day. Ankhu Khola Jalvidhyut Company (AKJCL), Api Power Company (API), Ridi Power Company (RIDI) and National Hydro Power Company (NHPC) were among the top five by turnover.
Notably, investors in Upper Lohore Khola Hydropower Company (ULHC), Mountain Hydro Nepal (MHNL), Bungal Hydro (BUNGAL), Shikhar Power Development (SIPD) and City Hotel (CITY) recorded the largest gains.
By contrast, the biggest declines were seen in Corporate Development Bank (CORBL), 10.25% SBL Debenture 2083 (SBLD83), 10% Prime Debenture 2088 (PBD88), Bottlers Nepal (Balaju) (BNL) and 7% Nepal SBI Bank Debenture 2090 (SBID2090).
Market breadth was positive, with share prices of 248 companies rising while 21 companies fell.
