KATHMANDU: Ncell has obtained ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, the company announced on Wednesday, underscoring its adherence to international standards for quality management and environmental management.
ISO 9001 sets the global benchmark for quality management systems, ensuring organisations maintain processes that meet customer and regulatory requirements. Likewise, ISO 14001 establishes requirements for environmental management systems, helping companies manage environmental responsibilities, reduce waste and comply with applicable laws.
Michael Foley, CEO of Ncell, said, “These ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certifications, following the prestigious ISO 27001:2022 (ISMS) and ISO 27701:2019 (PIMS) certifications in data security and privacy, are a testament to our commitment to the quality of services we provide. Be it for B2C, B2B, or B2G services, these certifications ensure that our business is robustly governed and meets globally recognised standards.”
Earlier, Ncell noted it became the first telecoms company in Nepal to receive ISO 27001:2022 and ISO 27701:2019 in January last year, and those certifications were renewed this year. The company said the new ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 awards further emphasise its focus on operational excellence and sustainability amid Nepal’s evolving digital landscape.
The operator said customers can expect more reliable network performance and improved service quality, while enterprises may see enhanced efficiency and reduced risks. The company added that partners, regulators and investors should gain greater confidence from its demonstrated compliance and ongoing improvement efforts.
In a press statement, Ncell said it will use the certifications to continue delivering digital services while advancing environmental stewardship across its operations.
