KATHMANDU: Himalaya Airlines is set to launch a direct service between Kathmandu and Shenzhen beginning June 4, the carrier announced on Tuesday.
The airline said it will operate two return flights a week between Tribhuvan International Airport and Shenzhen Baoan International Airport. Flights from Kathmandu to Shenzhen will run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, while services from Shenzhen to Kathmandu will operate on Wednesdays and Fridays.
The carrier said the schedule will provide regular connections for both business and leisure travellers and aims to strengthen links between Nepal and the Chinese city, which is known as an economic and technological hub.
“Direct flights connecting Kathmandu to Shenzhen City of China would help expand tourism and trade activities in both countries,” said Bijay Shrestha, vice chair at the Himalaya Airlines.
