eSewa hackathon 2026 concludes in Chitwan

SAURAHA, CHITWAN: eSewa Hackathon 2026 concluded in Sauraha, Chitwan, on Sunday, after three days of competition and prototype development. The residential event was organised by Nepal’s leading payment service provider eSewa in collaboration with WWF Nepal.

Held from May 29, the hackathon brought together 63 participants from 20 teams selected nationwide. During the event, teams presented digital solutions and prototypes addressing fintech, cybersecurity, digital inclusion and environmental sustainability.

Following the presentations, judges selected three top teams. Confusion Matrix, made up of Aditya Kumar Sah Teli and Pooja Yadav, won first place. Cash Flow, consisting of Abhinandan Rajbhandari, Erbin Shrestha, Utsav Dahal and Sabin Neupane, took second place. Aryana, whose members are Indra Prasad Sapkota, Samip Ghimire, Saugat Adhikari and Sneha Chhetri, finished third. eSewa awarded cash prizes of Rs 300,000 for first place, Rs 200,000 for second place and Rs 100,000 for third place.

At the closing ceremony, Jagdish Khadka, Chief Executive Officer of eSewa, praised the participants’ energy and the solutions they presented. "We believe that by utilising the creative and innovative solutions presented by the youth here in the future, significant contributions can be made to the digital economy and environmental protection," Khadka said. "The innovative digital solutions, energy, and creativity of new talents will determine the future of a secure and robust fintech ecosystem."

eSewa added that it will continue running similar programmes to build an innovation culture, promote youth entrepreneurship and contribute to Nepal’s digital economy.
