KATHMANDU: Federation of Nepal Cottage and Small Industries (FNCSI) said the government’s budget for the upcoming fiscal year has increased the confidence of private sector.
Speaking at a press conference to share details about the FNCSI’s 26th general convention and the 23rd National Women Entrepreneurs Conference, FNCSI President Umesh Prasad Singh said he is confident the budget for fiscal year 2026/27 will contribute to economic revitalisation, promote a productive economy, expand entrepreneurship and strengthen private sector confidence.
The Federation is optimistic that the budget will lay a solid foundation for a circular economy and raise the self‑confidence of private businesses.
“Among the positive measures taken by the budget include reforms in industrial and business tax, development of entrepreneurship, promotion of digital economy, plan focused on production and employment expansion, and energy and infrastructural development,” Singh said while unveiling the Federation’s official views on the budget.
The FNCSI expects the budget to help resolve problems facing small and cottage industrialists, including economic recession, shrinking investment, production and market management challenges, and limited access to finance.
