KATHMANDU: Ranjit Acharya, founder and CEO of Prisma Advertising, has been nominated as a jury member for the 17th Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards.
The appointment is the first time a creative professional from Nepal has been invited to serve on the festival’s jury. In a statement, Prisma Advertising said it is a milestone for the country’s advertising and creative sector.
Founded in 2010 and held annually in Cannes, France, the Cannes Corporate Media & TV Awards recognises excellence in corporate films, branded content, documentaries and online media across 63 competitive categories. The festival’s Dolphin Trophies are awarded in Gold, Silver, Black, Blue and White categories.
Acharya brings more than 35 years of experience in advertising, brand strategy, creative direction, film production and public relations to the jury. Under his leadership, Prisma Advertising has won four consecutive Best Agency of the Year titles, making it Nepal’s most awarded independent advertising agency. His notable campaigns include Coca‑Cola Nepal’s 'Mann Kholaun Coke Sanga' and the rebranding of Mero Mobile to Ncell.
His international honours include the Bell Ringer Award 2000 (Johnson & Johnson, US), the ABBY Award 2007 (Ad Club Mumbai) and the BrandLaureate BestBrands Award 2025 in Singapore, the release said.
“Creativity has no passport. Every story told with truth and craft deserves a global stage. This nomination is not mine alone — it belongs to every Nepali creative who dared to dream beyond borders,” Acharya said in a statement.
As a jury member, Acharya will review submissions from film producers, agencies, clients, broadcasters and students worldwide and help determine the festival’s winners.
Beyond Prisma, Acharya holds leadership roles in several organisations: he is Managing Director of Neelbarahi Films, Founder Director of Biscope Cinema, Chairperson of Sanskriti International School and Chairperson of DNA. He is also a Distinguished Toastmaster with 26 years of involvement in Toastmasters leadership and is the only Nepali recipient of Toastmasters International’s Presidential Citation (2018), the statement noted.
Prisma Advertising, established more than three decades ago, offers integrated services in brand strategy, creative direction, film and content production, digital and public relations, and has been credited with creating several widely recognised brand slogans in Nepal. The company said Acharya’s jury role highlights the growing international visibility of creative work emerging from Nepal.
