KATHMANDU: Nabil Bank and Dhulikhel Hospital on Monday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to form a strategic partnership aimed at strengthening critical healthcare and rehabilitation services across Nepal.

The agreement was signed by Manoj Kumar Gyawali, chief executive officer of Nabil Bank, in the presence of Nirvana Kumar Chaudhary, chairman of Nabil Bank, and Dr Biraj Man Karmacharya, administrative director of Dhulikhel Hospital, at a formal ceremony attended by distinguished guests.

Under the terms of the MoU, Nabil Bank will provide Rs 60 million in financial assistance to support the expansion of burn critical care, artificial limb fitment and rehabilitation, and dialysis services nationwide. Dhulikhel Hospital will manage the initiative and lead implementation.

The funding will be used to establish a 10‑bed critical burn care unit at Dhulikhel Hospital, with plans to replicate similar facilities in other provinces. The partnership also includes setting up two artificial limb fitment and rehabilitation units and enhancing dialysis services to improve access to life‑saving treatment for patients across the country.

Both institutions said the collaboration responds to a growing need for accessible, high-quality critical care and rehabilitation services, particularly in burn treatment and dialysis support, and aims to generate measurable social impact while strengthening Nepal’s healthcare system.
