KATHMANDU: FOTON, a global commercial vehicle brand, received the 'Corporate Commercial Vehicle Award 2026' on Thursday for its contributions to Nepal’s transport sector through modern technology, safety measures, sustainable mobility and environmentally friendly solutions.

The award was presented at a ceremony in Kathmandu and accepted by Anil Kumar Baral, chief executive of MAW Vriddhi Commercial Vehicles. Organisers highlighted the company’s role in advancing electric mobility and introducing advanced commercial vehicle technologies across the country.

FOTON has supplied more than 2,000 vehicles in Nepal, including trucks, vans and electric commercial models. Company officials said these vehicles have helped improve business mobility while supporting national efforts towards cleaner and more efficient transport.

MAW Vriddhi has built a nationwide '3S' network, Sales, Service and Spare Parts, to provide customer support, and has rolled out a CCS2 speed charging network with over 200 charging points across Nepal to strengthen electric vehicle infrastructure and offer convenient charging access.

Commenting on the award, MAW Vriddhi Commercial Vehicles CEO Baral said, "Receiving the Corporate Commercial Vehicle Award 2026 is a proud moment for the FOTON brand and for MAW Vriddhi Commercial Vehicles. This recognition strengthens our commitment to delivering world-class commercial mobility solutions to Nepal. We remain focused on providing reliable vehicles, innovative technology, strong after-sales support, and sustainable transportation solutions that support businesses and contribute to the country’s economic progress."

Globally, FOTON is known for investments in next-generation commercial vehicle technologies, including electric mobility, intelligent driving systems and energy-efficient solutions. The company’s efforts in Nepal were cited as contributing to reduced carbon emissions and wider adoption of clean energy in the transport sector.
