KATHMANDU: LG Electronics Singapore, together with local partner CG Electronics, launched a new line of home appliances, the 'LG Essential Series', at an event in Lalitpur on Tuesday. The range, developed from insights into Nepali household needs, includes double-door refrigerators, fully automatic top-load washing machines and room air conditioners aimed at offering durable, practical features at accessible prices.

The refrigerator in the 'LG Essential Series' features Frost-Free Technology, a Smart Mode that adjusts cooling with seasonal changes, and a vegetable compartment 20% larger than previous models to accommodate bulk grocery shopping. The washing machine is built for local conditions with a ProShield Motor, a BMC cover for protection against dust and moisture, an IPX4-rated water-resistant control panel and Low-Pressure Fill Technology to work effectively at lower water pressure. The air conditioner offers energy-efficient cooling and heating with low-noise operation and uses R32 refrigerant.

"The LG Essential Series marks a new chapter in our commitment to Nepali consumers, following the successful launch of the kW Manager Dual Cool Residential Air Conditioner," said Nirvana Chaudhary, Managing Director of Chaudhary Group. "Designed from the ground up with insights from thousands of households, this series brings together premium design and everyday reliability. It addresses the real needs of Nepali families with appliances built for local conditions—enhancing convenience and enriching daily life. With this launch, LG is making Life’s Good more accessible, turning aspirations into reality across Nepal." said Changho Han, Home Appliance Solution – Product Director of LG Electronics Singapore.

LG and CG Electronics emphasised durability and suitability for Nepal’s environment, noting features such as long-lasting inverter compressors with a 10-year warranty on refrigerators and motors, gentle wash cycles for delicate garments and water-resistant controls for humid conditions. The Low-Pressure feature is designed to operate effectively at water pressure levels above 0.5 bar, and the IPX4 rating on the control panel was tested by a third-party lab in August 2025.

The company said the 'LG Essential Series' aims to make innovation more accessible to millions of households under the campaign slogan "Harek Ghar Ko Khushi, Ghar Ghar Ma LG", and that products will be rolled out nationwide beginning in June 2026. Prices for entry-level models start at approximately Rs 49,690. The products will be available through all authorised LG Brand Shops, multi-brand retail outlets and major e-commerce platforms across Nepal.

CG Electronics, part of CG Corp Global and the sole authorised distributor of LG products in Nepal, will handle distribution. LG Electronics said the 'LG Essential Series' is part of its broader effort to expand access to energy-efficient, reliable home appliances in the Nepali market.
