KATHMANDU: Nepal-India Chamber of Commerce and Industry (NICCI) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Global Investment and Trade Advisors LLP (GITA), India, to deepen trade and investment cooperation between the two countries. The agreement was signed in Kathmandu recently.
Under the MoU, the two organisations commit to joint activities aimed at expanding cross-border business links and encouraging investment. NICCI and GITA said they will collaborate on business delegations, investment outreach programmes, sectoral engagements, policy dialogues, roadshows and stakeholder consultations.
NICCI Director Marshal Rathour and GITA Managing Partner Priya Rawat signed the MoU. Both organisations highlighted the need for stronger institutional cooperation to increase bilateral trade and investment flows and to create new opportunities for investors and enterprises in Nepal and India.
The partnership will involve chambers of commerce, industry bodies, government agencies and development institutions, with an emphasis on knowledge exchange and greater participation in emerging economic sectors.
NICCI said the agreement is an important step towards promoting business partnerships and building a more dynamic ecosystem for economic collaboration between the neighbouring countries.
