Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Fine 1,922 Motorists in 24 Hours, Collect Over Rs 511,000 in Penalties

Kathmandu: The Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office took action against 1,922 motorists for breaking traffic rules in the past 24 hours, collecting Rs 511,501 in fines.

Among those penalised, 92 were caught driving under the influence of alcohol, 78 were operating unauthorised ride-sharing services, 129 violated traffic lights, and 139 were fined for speeding.

Police also fined 41 motorists for lane discipline violations, 67 for unnecessary honking, 10 for using black number plates, and 70 for driving against one-way traffic rules.

The remaining 1,296 motorists were penalised for other traffic offences.
