Monsoon Becomes More Active, Heavy Rain and Thunderstorms Likely in Several Parts of Nepal Over the Next Few Days

KATHMANDU: Monsoon weather continues to affect many parts of Nepal, bringing light to moderate rain and thunderstorms, according to the Department of Hydrology and Meteorology. Monsoon winds are active across Koshi, Madhesh and Bagmati provinces, parts of Gandaki Province and eastern Lumbini Province, and are expected to spread further west within the next two to three days.

The Department said many hilly areas are likely to receive rain with thunder and lightning today and tonight. Heavy to very heavy rainfall is possible at a few places in Koshi Province, while some areas of Madhesh, Bagmati and Gandaki provinces may also receive heavy rain. Gusty winds are also expected in parts of the Terai, and some high mountain areas could see rainfall or snowfall.
